Available dates: April - Mid November
Duration: 13 Days | 12 Nights
Number of nights: 12 - Anabezi 4 nights, Tena Tena 4 nights , Pumulani 4 nights
This safari covers two of the premier parks in Zambia – The South Luangwa and Lower Zambezi plus Malawi’s calendar lake, Lake Malawi. The Luangwa Valley, which marks the end of the Great Rift Valley, is one of the last unspoiled wilderness areas and possibly the finest wildlife sanctuary in Africa. The Luangwa River flows into the Zambezi River – just below the Lower Zambezi National Park.
This park, scenically bordered by an impressive escarpment, has excellent game, which can be viewed from either the river or by land. Quietly drifting past a huge elephant feeding is a great experience. Malawi is a landlocked country, running down the end of the Great Rift Valley. Dominated by Lake Malawi, the third largest lake in Africa, the surrounding country is exceptionally beautiful with dramatic scenery that includes rocky outcrops, high mountains, plateaus and views across what is considered Africa’s most beautiful lake. Malawi is known as the “Warm Heart of Africa” and as a people the Malawians live up to this name. They are extremely friendly and welcoming. There are many market scenes, roadside stalls, cottage industries that a visitor can comfortably visit. With both the scenery and the culture Malawi is a great country to drive in.

Many yellow corn pods drop from the surrounding Ana Trees attracting a diversity of animals from the higher land to feed during the dry months. ANABEZI

Tena Tena is a remote and small camp which lies within the National Park and enjoys a stunning location on a sweeping bend of the Luangwa River. A grove of mahogany trees shade the large custommade tents. From the thatched dining room and bar, guests can watch the elephants, hippo and antelope on the riverbank. Tena has 6 tents, each with a dressing room, open air bathroom and private verandah that overlooks a water hole. Most meals are taken under the shade of a huge Mahogany tree in the centre of the camp. On arrival you will be shown to your tent and then lunch will be served followed by a siesta and then tea before the afternoon and evening game drive. TENA TENA

The front sliding doors open onto the deck – elevated above the ground giving optimal views. The central dining and bar area is high above the lake with the most spectacular views and leads onto an expansive deck. The infinity swimming pool is on a lower terraced deck. The lake shore bar offers light snacks as well as refreshments. Meals will be served in the dining area, on the beach or by arrangement on your private deck.
