Day 1: Arrival Hanoi
Xin Chao. Welcome to Viet Nam. Today you will take your flight to Hanoi. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to the hotel. You will be offered a welcome drink and the tour briefings in the hotel lobby. Then check into the hotel for refreshments (standard check in time 2:00pm). The rest of the day is at your leisure.
Day 2: City Tour Of Hanoi (B)
After breakfast you will take an in-depth tour of the most interesting sites in Hanoi. The tour includes the visits to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (closed on Monday, Friday, all daily afternoon, October and November. During closed time, you will visit outside) - Ba Dinh Square – The old residence of Ho Chi Minh – One Pillar Pagoda – Ethnological Museum – Temple of Literature – Ngoc Son Temple. Afterwards you will take an in-depth walking tour of Hanoi Old Quarter for an overview of the local life and businesses – enjoy an hour water puppet show before your return to the hotel. The rest of the day is yours.
Day 3: Hanoi – Cruise On Halong Bay – Overnight On Board (B/L/D)
You will take a 4 hour drive on a countryside road through the paddy fields to Ha Long Bay, one of New Seven Natural Wonders. Upon arrival at the harbor, you will board a traditional boat – set sail through the limestone islands – have a nice seafood lunch – take a sampan ride to visit a traditional fishing village – attend a short cooking class - settle down on the upper deck for some drinks whilst watching the sunset – enjoy a delicious dinner. The rest of the day is your leisure. Why not play cards, try your luck at fishing, watch movies or simply enjoy some drinks and chat with your friends at the bar on board.
Day 4: Halong Bay – Hanoi – Fly to Hue (B)
Up early – top deck – Tai Chi! Then you will enjoy your light breakfast – disembark for an easy exploration of the cave close by – return to your boat - check out your cabins – enjoy a nice brunch while sailing back to land. Upon arrival at the harbor, board your private transfer and head back to the airport in Ha Noi. On the way back (if your time permits), visit Ba Vang Pagoda - a ceramic factory. Afterwards proceed to the airport for your departure flight. upon arrival in Hue, you will be met and transferred to the hotel. The rest of the day is yours.
Day 5: Tour Of Hue Old City (B)
After breakfast you will take an in-depth tour of this historical city. The itinerary includes visits to: Cau Ngoi Village – the countryside market - The Hue Old Citadel, which contains the Imperial City and the Purple Forbidden City – Thien Mu Pagoda – Minh Mang Tomb. Afterward return to the hotel for your refreshment. The rest of the day is at your leisure.
Day 6: Hue – Countryside Activities – Afternoon Drive to Hoian (B/L)
8h30: Pick up the guests at their hotel and start biking to Thanh Toan Village where the famous “Thanh Toan Tile Roofed Bridge” is located. On the way, you can’t help surprising to catch the images of the bustling morning local market, the green rice fields, majestic family temples as well as the daily life of local people crossing the zigzag path of the village.
10h00: Arrive at Thanh Toan Tile roofed Bridge – a truly unique ancient bridge in Vietnam, and visit Agricultural Museum with a wide variety of agricultural tools exhibited to explain the details of Vietnamese life and culture.
10h15: Row the boat with the villager on Nhu Y River to enjoy spectacular sceneries and explore how they catch the fish by using some old tools such as fishing trap, casting net, etc. After observing, you can join hand with them to catch your own fish.
Get back to our “Eco Home” where you can see around the vegetable garden with many kinds grown by local farmer such as: Malabar spinach, gourd, fiber melon, winter melon, fig…
12h00: Join cooking class to learn the traditional ways of preparing and cooking Hue special such as fig salad with shrimp and meat and spring roll. After the lesson, enjoy what you have just cooked and some other local dishes
13h30 – 14h00: Ride back to the city. End of your Eco trip to Thanh Toan village.
Then, you will take a 3 hour drive south along the coast road with stops at the top of Hai Van pass (Cloudy Pass), continue to Hoian. Stay overnight in Hoian.
Day 7: Morning Walking Tour – Afternoon Leisure (B)
After breakfast at hotel, you will take an in-depth walking tour of the most interesting sites in Hoi An, which include the Japanese Covered Bridge, Chinese Assembly Halls, Tan Ky Ancient House, and the vibrant market. Afterwards return to the hotel for refreshments. Afternoon is your own leisure time. Stay overnight in Hoian.
Day 8: Hoian – Danang – Fly to Saigon – Afternoon City Tour (B)
Today you will be transferred to Danang airport for a short flight to Saigon. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to the hotel for refreshments. Then your day is followed by a half day city tour of the most interesting sites, which include: The War Remnant Museum -Reunification Hall - Notre Dame Cathedral & The Central Post office nearby - Ben Thanh Market. Afterwards return to your hotel. Your evening is at your leisure.
Day 9: Saigon – Mekong Delta – Countryside Experience – Ho Chi Minh (B/L)
Have breakfast at hotel. Your full day tour start:
• Drive away the noise of city life to reach Tam vu - the kingdom of dragon fruits plantation. We may stop at any garden on way and enjoy a special kind of dragon fruit- the red one
• The busy market with colorful flowers and fruits and vegetables, catfish, turtle...will give you a wonderful photo for countryside life
• Not only dragon fruits but also rice, corn, chili field on way down a ferry station will bring you to another picture of mekong delta
• Hop on a bike (or motobike) to get on a green island full of coconut and sour-sop. Let stop at a local how to see what do they do with coconut, water hyercinth weaving, brooms and coconut leaf roof made
• Let try a new taste with cool cannal by a sampan
Afternoon, you will drive back hotel in Ho chi Minh. Stay overnight in Ho Chi Minh.
Day 10: Ho Chi Minh – Fly to Siem Reap (B)
Today you will fly to Siem Reap. Arrival Siem Reap airport, you will be picked up and escorted you to hotel. Stay overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 11: Siem Reap – Angkor Temples Tour (B)
Breakfast at hotel. Visit the antique capital of Angkor Thom (12 century): the South Gate with its huge statues depicting the churning of the ocean of milk, the Bayon Temple, unique for its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces of Avolokitesvara, the Phimeanakas, the Royal Enclosure, the Elephants Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King.
Visit to Ta Prohm, one of the area’s most beautiful temples. Ta Prohm has been relatively untouched since it was discovered and retains much of its mystery, and the most famous of all the temples on the plain of Angkor: Angkor Wat. The temple complex covers 81 hectares and is comparable in size to the Imperial Palace in Beijing. Its distinctive five towers are emblazoned on the Cambodian flag and the 12th century masterpiece is considered by art historians to be the prime example of classical Khmer art and architecture. Enjoy wonderful sunset from the top of Pre Rup Temple.
Day 12: Siem Reap – Fly to Luang Prabang (B)
Today you will fly to Luang Prabang. Luang Prabang is perhaps the best-preserved traditional city in Southeast Asia. The tranquillity and charm of this UNESCO world heritage town with its splendid natural scenery and cultural sights makes it one of the most delightful places to visit in Laos.
On arrival at the airport are welcomed and transferred to the hotel, after check into the hotel we continue time permitting to climb the 328 steps to the top of Mount Phousi to take in the beautiful sunset over this town and the Mekong River
In the evening explore the Street Night Bazaar, where you can find the lovely collection and handmade
textiles by local and hill tribe people surrounding Luang Prabang. For late arrivals this can be done on the following day.
Day 13: Luang Prabang – Pak Ou Caves – KuangSi Waterfall (B)
This morning you may want to wake up early and participate in the daily early morning ritual of saffron-clad monks with their black Alms-giving bowls being given offerings from the local people, including the ubiquitous sticky rice.
After breakfast early morning we’ll take you on an amazing long tail boat journey along the Nam-Ou & Mekong Rivers , through the beautiful Laotian countryside all the way to Luang Prabang, passing by the local villages and seeing the real everyday life of the villagers going about their chores including fishing, trading & washing along the rivers on our 5 hour journey. We’ll stop on the way to see the fascinating Pak Ou caves, which in fact are a cave system of two interlinked caves, crammed full of Buddha statues left behind by pilgrims over generations and then we’ll observe the traditional process of rice wine distillation in Ban Sanghai, before returning to Luang Prabang
After lunch we continue to Khuang Si Waterfall and Bear Rescue Center, about 30mins from Luang Prabang, the waterfall is set in a natural jungle setting and you will have plenty of time to relax or swim in it’s turquoise cool pools. Return to Luang Prabang and free at your leisure.
Day 14: Luang Prabang – City Tour – Departure (B)
After breakfast visit the morning Phou Si Market where you will see such diverse offerings as dried buffalo skin, local tea and saltpetre among the chickens, vegetables and hill-tribe weavings. we visit the National Museum at the former Royal Palace displays a lovely collection of the artifacts reflecting the richness of Lao culture dating from the days of the early kings right through the last sovereign. The National Museum and the Central Market are not to be missed
After market today’s tour through the historical and UNESCO world heritage city of Luang Prabang will give you insight into the culture and rich history of the magical city. Luang Prabang has a fascinating history with a delightful mix of Buddhist temples and French Colonial buildings.
Our first stop is Wat Visoun: a replica of an older Temple, which was erected in the same place back in 1513. Wat Visoun houses numerous religious art treasures. Next we head to Wat Xieng Thong a royal Wat built on the banks of the Mekong River in 1559. Wat Xieng Thong has remained relatively undamaged by the various mainly Chinese invasions over the centuries. The temple is decorated extensively with impressive carving, murals and mosaics.
Visit the Laotian Royal Palace officially known as Haw Kham. The palace was built during the French colonial era for the King and his family. The site was chosen so that official visitors to Luang Prabang could disembark from their river voyages directly at the palace and be received there. In 1975, the monarchy was overthrown and the Palace was converted into a National museum. Today it houses many artefacts, which showcase the richness of Laotian culture. Then continue to enjoy the atmosphere at Wat Mai, built in 1796 and sits at the foot of Mount Phousi. Return to the hotel check and transfer to the airport for your award flight ticket.
